Super Metro Suspension Reinstated Pending Full Compliance
They were also ordered to present 31 vehicles identified with issues of inspection at Likoni Motor Vehicles inspection center and submit a compliance report thereof to the Directorate of Safety at NTSA.
The orders by the National Transport and Safety Authority suspending the operation of Super Metro Sacco Limited vehicles have been reinstated until full compliance with requirements.
The decision by the Transport and Licensing Appeals Board which was delivered in Nairobi directed the Sacco to the requirements they need to comply with before resuming their operations.
The decision was concurred by the four members chaired by Justice Dr Adrian Kamotho, Hilary Songoyo, Jackline Omiti, and Benson Gichohi ordered the appellant to deliver eight identified vehicles with various violations relating to speed limiters for compliance check at the Likoni Motor Vehicles inspection center.
They were also ordered to present 31 vehicles identified with issues of inspection at Likoni Motor Vehicles inspection center and submit a compliance report thereof to the Directorate of Safety at NTSA.
The Board also directed the retesting of 42 drivers from the Sacco who have been involved with overspeeding violations at the inspection center, in Nairobi and disengaged 269 drivers as per their replying affidavit dated April 10, 2025.
The Sacco was further required to furnish with minutes and the attendance list of Road Safety Sensitization of all its drivers to the director of NTSA.
The Board further directed the orders to be served upon the Inspector General of the National Police Service.
The matter was scheduled for mention on April 17, 2025, to confirm compliance.
