Right Tours and Safaris Director Charged Over Ksh 1.6M Tourism Fraud
George Ogunda Okech is said to have committed the said offence on diverse dates between December 8, 2025, and January 20, 2026, at Town House within Nairobi CBD.
The director of Right Tours and Safaris has been charged at a Nairobi court with obtaining Ksh 1.6 million by pretending to assist him with tourist activities in different parts of the country.
George Ogunda Okech is said to have committed the said offence on diverse dates between December 8, 2025, and January 20, 2026, at Town House within Nairobi CBD.
The prosecution told the court that Okech obtained Ksh 1,607,972 from Jean Jacques by pretending to assist him and his colleagues, so he could facilitate them with tourist activities in various parts of the country, which was a false fact.
He appeared before the Milimani Principal Magistrate Irene Thamana and denied the charges leveled against him.
He pleaded with the court to be released on lenient bond terms, assuring the court he would comply with the terms set by the court.
The prosecution did not oppose his release on reasonable bond terms.
The Magistrate released him on a bond of Ksh 500,000, with a surety of the same amount, or an alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000, with one contact person.
The matter will be mentioned in a fortnight.
