Nairobi Man Denies Presenting Fake Spousal Consent Affidavit to Police
Chege is alleged to have presented to Inspector of Police Felix Nzauka an affidavit of consent from a spouse dated March 8, 2016, pretending it was a genuine document, which was a false fact.
A Nairobi man has been charged in a Nairobi court with the offence of uttering forged documents to a person employed by the government.
Stanley Muregi Chege was charged before the Milimani Principal Magistrate Irene Thamana and denied the charges presented by the prosecution.
Chege is alleged to have presented to Inspector of Police Felix Nzauka an affidavit of consent from a spouse dated March 8, 2016, pretending it was a genuine document, which was a false fact.
The affidavit in question was allegedly from Elizabeth Alouch.
He denied the charges and pleaded with the court for affordable bond terms.
The prosecution did not oppose the accused being released on reasonable bond terms.
The magistrate guaranteed him a bond of Ksh 250,000 with a surety of the same amount or alternative cash bail of Ksh 50,000 with one contact person.
