Tareef Directors Face September Trial Over Ksh 7.8M Fraud Case
The three directors, Ali Sheikh Hassan, Ahmed Muhamed Karshe, and Abdulaziz Mohamed Karshe, were charged with obtaining cement, bitumen, and paraffin worth Ksh 7.8 million by falsely claiming they would pay for them at a later date.
The matter in which three directors of Tareef Interprises Limited are charged with obtaining goods worth Ksh 7.8 million will proceed on September 28, 2026, the court has directed.
When the matter came up for mention before the Mimani Principal Magistrate Caroline Mugo, the prosecution requested a hearing date as they have supplied the relevant documents to the defence and are now ready to proceed.
The three directors, Ali Sheikh Hassan, Ahmed Muhamed Karshe, and Abdulaziz Mohamed Karshe, were charged with obtaining cement, bitumen, and paraffin worth Ksh 7.8 million by falsely claiming they would pay for them at a later date.
The trio was also charged with obtaining Ksh 4,335,000 by pretence that they were in a position to construct a road in Maua, Meru, which was a false statement.
They were charged with 10 counts of issuing bad cheques totalling Ksh 990,000 to John Mwaniki Kiarie, the director of Tradenet Construction Works, knowing that their company’s account had insufficient funds.
The hearing will proceed on September 28 this year.
