KRA Staffer and Accountant Facing Grievous Harm Charges over Kileleshwa Incident
They denied the charges and, through their lawyers, pleaded for lenient bond terms, citing that they are family men.
A Kenya Revenue Authority employee is among four men charged at a Nairobi court with assault causing grievous harm contrary to Section 234 of the Penal Code.
Collins Serut, a KRA official in Mombasa, was charged charged alongside Adams Kenyokye Serut, an accountant; George Njoroge Mbugua, an IT expert; and businessman Stephene Mburu Muhia.
The four appeared before the Milimani Principal Magistrate Rose Ndombi, facing the offence of causing grievous harm to Brian Cheruiyot Rop.
The prosecution informed the court that on November 19, 2024, along Mandera Road in Kileleshwa, Kilimani, within Nairobi County, the accused jointly and unlawfully caused grievous harm to the said Brian.
They denied the charges and, through their lawyers, pleaded for lenient bond terms, citing that they are family men.
The prosecution did not oppose their release on reasonable bond terms.
The Magistrate granted them a bond of Ksh 100,000 or alternative cash bail of Ksh 50,000.
The matter will be mentioned for pre-trial on March 9, 2026.
