Woman Charged in Court With Spiking a Reveller

The magistrate requested a pre-bail report before giving directions on Friday. She was detained in custody.

A woman has been charged at a Nairobi court with conspiracy to steal by administering an unknown drug as an overpowering drug to a reveller with the aim of stealing from him.
Caroline Nyambura Ngigi appeared before the Milimani Principal Magistrate Geofrey Onsarigo, facing two counts of conspiracy to steal and stealing.
The prosecution told the court that on the day between July 26 and 27, within the Ruai and Utawala area in Nairobi county, jointly with another person not before the court, with the intent to steal, administered an unknown drug as an overpowering drug to Joseph Maina Ngaruiya.
She was also charged with the offence of stealing contrary to Section 268(1) of the Penal Code.
The prosecution told the court that on July 27, 2025, in Utawala within Nairobi county, with another person who was not before the court, stole KSh 910,531, the property of Joseph Maina Ngaruiya.
She denied the charges and requested the court to release her with lenient bond terms.
