Man Charged in Ksh 9.9M Electronics Shop Burglary Released on Bond

After entering a plea of not guilty, the Magistrate released the accused on a bond of Ksh 3 million, with a surety of the same amount, or on alternative cash bail of Ksh 200,000 with two contact persons.

The Nairobi court has released a man charged with burglary and the theft of property worth Ksh 9.9 million from an electronics shop in the city on bond.

While releasing Victor Mose Abuga, the Milimani Chief Magistrate, Dolphina Alego, noted that his co-accused has been charged in the same court facing the same offence and considered releasing him on similar bond terms.

“I consider the application by the prosecution to release the accused person on similar bond terms in the criminal file E617/2025,” the magistrate ruled.

After entering a plea of not guilty, the Magistrate released the accused on a bond of Ksh 3 million, with a surety of the same amount, or on alternative cash bail of Ksh 200,000 with two contact persons.

Abuga, jointly with others was charged that on September 16, 2025, at Diamond Plaza in Parklands within Nairobi county broke, entered Dreams Collection Limited, an electronic shop situated within the said building and stole five iPhones SE, three iPhones 16, four iPhones 16E, broke the metallic safe and stole Ksh 3,800,000 and USD 42000 all valued at Ksh 9,925,120, the property of Dreams Collection Limited.

State prosecutor Hillary Isiaho applied to have the two matters consolidated at the pre-trial stage.

The court admitted his application, and the matter was scheduled for pre-trial and consolidation on January 19, 2026.
