Kibo Africa Charges Into Kenya’s Green Mobility Space With New ‘Kibo Spark’ EV

"The motorbikes are manufactured here in Kenya, meeting the international standards to compete with any other motorcycle in the world,"  Maingi stated.

Kibo Africa has made a milestone in mobility after launching an electric motorbike as a way to a green environment and economic hardships following the high cost of petroleum products.

The press briefing event that was held at Westbay Mall in Gachie, Kiambu County, was meant to launch the electric motorcycles by the company and train bodaboda riders in Nairobi who were represented by their heads.
The Kibo Spark motorcycles, powered by Powerhive, are modified to support the common bodaboda riders to cope with the high cost of petroleum, and they are expected to save more money spent on manual motorcycles.
The Kibo company has been in operation in Kenya for the last 13 years, and their motorcycles are of the highest quality that meet international standards, hence assuring their customers the durability of their products.
According to Kibo Commercial director Milton Maingi, the motorbikes are manufactured in Kenya and meet the international standards in terms of durability and affordability to improve bodaboda livelihood.
“The motorbikes are manufactured here in Kenya, meeting the international standards to compete with any other motorcycle in the world,”  Maingi stated.
The motorbikes have two batteries meant to save energy and money, whereby one battery can cover a distance of 80 Kilometers in a single unlimited swap with Ksh 450 in a day, depending on the terrain.
The company has signed an agreement with Powerhive through its director, Felix Mulwa, and Chris Hornor, Chief Executive Officer, Powerhive, to ensure the availability of charging stations in the country.
After the purchase of the Kibo motorcycle, you download their application, where you can access more efficient services.
According to the Kibo director Felix Mulwa, the Kibo Spark was launched in Nairobi, and they are expecting to enlarge the regional launch to other counties across Kenya for availability and awareness.
He added that the Kibo Spark is flexible in terms of money-making compared with other bikes since, in a single swap with Ksh 450, you can go for 24 hours with the amount before swapping again.
“You don’t have to queue waiting to recharge the battery now, and then, you save your time and energy since our bikes are flexible in terms of money-making,”  Mulwa said.
Further, he stated that the company is focusing on unveiling a leisure bike in seven months to satisfy their customer’s needs.
