Businessman Charged with Forging Documents for KSh 35M Runda Land
He denied the charges and, through his lawyer, applied for his release on lenient bond terms, stating that he has been complying with investigators and appearing before them without failure.
A city businessman has been charged in a Nairobi court with forgery and uttering of false documents to illegally occupy a parcel of land in Runda, valued at KSh 35 million.
Mohamed Abdi Mohamed appeared before the Milimani Magistrate Daisy Mutai, facing four counts of forgery, uttering, and making false documents with the aim of defrauding a parcel of land in Runda.
He was charged that on May 3, 2006 at an unknown place within the Republic of Kenya jointly with others not before the court, with intent to defraud Margaret Mwikali Katuse of her parcel of land LR No 12672/173 IR 89485 measuring approximately 0.2412 Hectares forged a certificate of grant for the said parcel with a third entry indicating a transfer to himself purporting it to be a genuine and valid document issued by the registrar of titles known as George Gichimu, which was a false fact.
In the second count, he was charged with making a false sale agreement and transfer document, both dated April 19, 2006, for the sale of the said parcel of land, purporting them to have been issued by Katuse.
In another count, he was charged with uttering a false sale agreement to Moses Mwenda, a police officer attached to DCI Headquarters.
He denied the charges and, through his lawyer, applied for his release on lenient bond terms, stating that he has been complying with investigators and appearing before them without failure.
He was released on a bond of Ksh 200,000 with a surety of the same amount with alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000 with one contact person.
The matter will be mentioned on July 7, 2026, for pre-trial and direction.
