A woman has been arraigned at the Milimani court with the offense of trafficking in narcotics contrary to the law.

Elizabeth Njeri Kamau was arrested within the Milimani court premises with 50 rolls of Cannabis Sativa (bhang) of street value KSh 2500.

According to the court documents, Kamau was charged that, on October 8, 2025, at Milimani Law Courts, within Upper Hill, within Nairobi county, she was found trafficking in the said bhang.

He appeared before the Chief Magistrate, Lucas Onyina, and denied the charges.

She told the court that she found the said substance wrapped the way it was when she accessed the main entrance. She thought it was money that she hid in her upper body.

She pleaded with the court to be released on a lenient cash bail, claiming she was a single mother of three, one of whom requires special care.

“Your honor I pray this court to release me on a lenient cash bail to go and take care of my children. My last born is six years old, and needs a special care and I left him at the daycare,” she told the court.

The magistrate referred the matter to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) court, where the case will be handled.

The case will be mentioned tomorrow, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, for further directions.
